Skin Surveillance and Dermatitis

There are many allergens in the workplace that can cause irritation to the skin with resultant dermatitis, ulceration, pre-cancerous changes and allergic reactions.

COSHH data will enable you to identify any potential risks to the skin from compounds and chemicals used in the workplace.

If this is the case, then it is important to minimise exposure to any employees.

This can be achieved by avoidance of contact with any chemicals, protection using PPE, good hygiene and moisturisers/ sunscreen and checking for early signs of skin changes.

We are able to offer skin surveillance with a screening questionnaire and examination of the skin by our trained nurses and doctors.

Remote Skin Assessments

If you have employees who only require Skin Surveillance, we can complete these remotely as a more cost-effective way to mop-up any remaining assessments or new starters.

Training

There are many allergens in the workplace that can cause irritation to the skin with resultant dermatitis, ulceration, pre-cancerous changes and allergic A ‘responsible person’ is someone in your organisation who is given the responsibility to help deliver a health surveillance system from within the workplace.

Aardvark Occupational Health can provide training on what they need to do to perform this role effectively. They must have the support of Occupational Health and it means you can manage skin surveillance in-house and only need to involve occupational health if a problem is identified.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss training options.
